RED IGT TREVENEZIE

Light but full-bodied. Fragrant and refreshing.
Two comple- mentary tones blend magnificently for the first time. The wed- ding between the softness and the elegance of Merlot with the fresh vivacity of the autochthonous Raboso tradition, com- bined with the skilful processing of the grapes, makes Punto Rosso a unique wine.

Two apparently opposite natures join excellently into a com- pletely new flavour which evoques ancient accents.

GRAPE VARIETIS

Merlot and Raboso.
Merlot is an international vine, which has been grown since centuries in the Eastern Veneto. Raboso is the autochthonous vine par excellence. It is characterized by a late ripening and by a significant basic acidity which confers to the wine a pleasant freshness.

PRODUCTION AREA

Our vineyards are located at the border between the regions of Veneto and Friuli. This area is characterized by flat land of allu- vial origin with stratifications of carbonate. The climate has hot but breezy summers thanks to the proximity to the Adriatic Sea.

HARVEST

The harvest is late and takes place at the beginning of October, after a light overripe of the grape on the plant, so that the fruit colours and scents reach their maximal natural expression.

VINIFICATION

The grape maceration is 12 days long, with daily delestages. After the drawing off, the wine is refined for a period for six months in French oak barrels of second and third stage. In this period the use of sulphites is minimal.

ORGANOLEPTIC FEATURES

Intense red colour, with plum and cherry scents, enhanced by the wood expressiveness, thanks to the specific wine ripening inside the specific barrel made of precious French oak.

ENOGASTRONOMIC MATCHINGS

Excellent to accompany meal-based lunches and dinners, but with cold cuts, cheeses and traditional Venetian dishes such as boiled meat and rotisserie. It can be tasted also between meals or as appetizer.
